Prepares monthly reconciliations on a variety of interest accrual accounts including but not limited to accrued interest and non-accrued interest on loans, deferred fees and costs and accrued interest on borrowings. Prepares a variety of accounting entries. Researches and resolves discrepancies.

Reviews monthly reconciliations prepared by others to ensure compliance with internal controls.

Verify all Accounting Department postings by reconciling with original documents.

Reviews daily financial statements for accuracy.

Assists the Treasurer with the monthly, quarterly and annual General Ledger closing process and preparation of period-end entries.

Prepare reports for Audits, the Budgeting Process and various Board Reports.

Primarily Responsible for maintaining the company’s Fixed Assets and Prepaid Expense Accounts.

Assist with Deposit Rate Management.

Verify/approve all wire transfers in/out of the Bank.

 Monitors daily Fed position and reports daily liquidity position to Treasurer.

Supervise Accounting Department personnel and assist when required with various functions. Oversees the Accounting Department workflow to ensure department efficiency. Serves as a resource in the resolution of errors. Ensures compliance with Bank policies and procedures.

Lead the preparation of the quarterly FDIC Call Report. Maintains adequate centralized supporting documentation for regulatory reporting reference.

Reviews the investment accounting function including month end accruals, reporting and transactions processed. Maintains investment records in accordance with established policies. Ensures reconciliation with custodian. Reports unresolved issues to Treasurer. Develops and prepares investment reports for Management, Board of Directors and third parties.

Candidate must have Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or the equivalent. Five to ten years in an accounting environment, banking preferred with at least 3 years of supervisory experience. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills. Strong PC skills with solid experience in Word and Excel required.  Knowledge of MISER system a plus.
