No appointment is required. Just stop into a branch with your savings bond and proper legal identification, like a state-issued ID, driver’s license, or passport. The Rollstone team will take it from there.

How do savings bonds work?

Savings bonds are sold by the U.S. government to the public at a discounted rate and mature over time to their full face value. Maturity times vary with the type of savings bond, but most average between 20 and 30 years.

When purchased, they provide an opportunity for a guaranteed return with little risk. Due to their long maturity times, savings bonds are frequently issued in children’s names who can cash them in when they’re adults.

How do you redeem savings bonds?

To redeem a paper savings bond, you’ll need to visit a Rollstone branch with the savings bond and proper identification. Our team will assist you with paperwork, verify your identity, and certify your signature. Then, you’ll be able to cash your savings bond. Please note: you must be a Rollstone customer to cash bonds at our branches.

Electronic savings bonds can be redeemed directly through TreasuryDirect.gov, a government-sponsored website that lets you buy and redeem bonds from the U.S. Department of Treasury.
